Since we’re near the end of the year, I thought it might be useful to look back at what development has been up to this year. I’ve broken this down into the areas we typically think about internally.
Integration
Bridge the Content Divide: Dynamics and ECM
It is not uncommon for organizations to implement several different systems in which their employees must do their work like an ECM, or a CRM /ERP like Microsoft Dynamics. Based on a user’s role in the organization, they are going to use specific systems that are vital to getting their work done. For instance, a sales team probably does a majority of their work in a CRM, like Microsoft Dynamics. However, they are also likely to spend some of their time storing documents within a content management system, like NetDocuments. Whether you’re a law firm, financial institution, or government agency, your organization might want to integrate these different systems together to help improve business processes and workflow.
SeeUnity Is Thankful
With Thanksgiving just around the corner, we wanted to take some time to express some things for which we are thankful.
Why Is Everyone Trying to Rename ECM?
Over the past year, the industry has noticed that different groups and organizations are trying to rename Enterprise Content Management (ECM), or what others might call Document Management (DM). Namely, AIIM and Gartner are leading the charge to rename ECM. Gartner has begun to refer to ECM and organizations that provide ECM solutions as “Content Services.” While AIIM has recently referred to the same group as “Intelligent Information Management.” The question here is why is everyone trying to rename ECM?
Integrating Salesforce with Document Management
As an organization, you probably host several types of systems for your employees to do their work. Based on the type of work you do, you probably have a sales team or people who manage customer accounts. Your sales team and account managers will use a CRM, like Salesforce, in which they can manage the accounts of current customers or clients and prospective customers or clients. In addition to Salesforce, your organization probably also uses some form of document management system as a single repository for all content created by your employees. Whether you are a law firm, financial institution, or government agency, your organization likely needs to integrate these two specific systems together to improve business processes.
