As you would expect, more and more of our development efforts are being directed to cloud-based services, whether it be document management systems like NetDocuments or iManage, file sharing services like Box or HighQ, or a records-based systems like Salesforce. Even though it’s usually easier to get started in integrating cloud services, there are some extra challenges as well.

Build vs. Buy Integrations
As organizations’ ecosystems of applications grow, so too does their need to integrate various solutions. We often work with organizations that are considering building a custom integration or buying one. In mine, and Dan Hunsinger’s, perspectives, this decision is a no-brainer.
DMS and SharePoint – The marriage of best-of-breed solutions
In most organizations, content can be dispersed among many different systems. In law firms, we often see the use of a DMS as a repository of record, and SharePoint being utilized as an intranet or extranet or an interface preferred by users. Often times, these firms struggle to maintain content in both systems, and they feel that their information governance and security initiatives are hard to follow with two different systems in use. We have experienced that firms will sometimes choose one over the other, and that leads them to migrate content from one system to the other.
