An undisclosed major government financial agency migrates to SharePoint with SeeUnity’s Velocity Content Migration solution. For this agency, eDOCS had played a sustainable role for high-value content. However, the agency was directed to transition to a privately hosted SharePoint environment. They knew migrations are no small task, so they submitted a request for proposal.
SeeUnity responded with a proposal that combined its migration software with services. Citing their depth of expertise, SeeUnity was selected to perform the migration. Prior to the migration, SeeUnity performed a solutions assessment to help them better understand the goals of the migration.
Cloud computing offers attractive benefits for organizations, as public agencies and private businesses shift more of their applications and computing power to the cloud. Analyst IDC predicts that by 2020, 40% of the information in the digital universe will be in the cloud, and when AIIM surveyed IT leaders recently, nearly half said they expect the cloud to be the de facto deployment for document management in the next several years. However, while most organizations will certainly embrace cloud technology to manage a range of data and applications, it’s unlikely that large organizations will move all of their data and applications to the cloud anytime soon. As a result, the new IT environment often includes a combination of on-premise and off-premise applications. Another way of describing the environment is the private cloud plus the public cloud, which Gartner defines as a “hybrid cloud.”
MacRoberts bridges the content divide with SeeUnity’s Echo Content Synchronization. As with most law firms, MacRoberts has extensive requirements for being able to structure, classify, and organize content.
Litigating cases often requires collaboration and sharing with clients and third parties. Due to governance and confidentiality requirements, these parties don’t have access to their ECM. They sought a solution that would automate how they collaborate externally. SeeUnity’s Echo Content Synchronization enabled MacRoberts to share externally in a secure and automated way.
Briggs and Morgan uses SeeUnity’s Fusion Content Integration to drive efficiency within their firm. Briggs and Morgan has relied upon OpenText eDOCS DM and its predecessors to manage important content over two decades. It has become a key part of how the firm minimizes risk and meets internal compliance standards.
The firm noted that a study found that over 60% of the U.S. workforce will be working remotely on a regular basis by 2013. They found that SharePoint would be the best solution for offsite working. The only thing it was missing was easy access to their eDOCS repository. To address this issue, the firm selected SeeUnity to securely integrate their eDOCS and SharePoint systems.
