We are pleased to announce that our Velocity Content Migration has been updated! We are calling the updated version “Velocity+.” Velocity+ has many changes that are going to empower administrators to have more successful and quicker migrations. Here are some noteworthy features of Velocity+.
The Server Side of Things
Velocity+ has been upgraded to facilitate an optimized migration. Our highly parallel architecture will allow you to control how quickly you want it to migrate documents. For example, by setting up several threads on a run, you can move more data and move things along more quickly. In an instance where things get bottled up and a migration run fails, our instant restart will know exactly where you left off, so you can avoid starting your run over. Also, our notification engine will send you a summary report, via email, that includes error stats to help you get your migration back on track. Administrators can set how often they want notifications based on their migration requirements.
Applications
Velocity+ now has three client applications, in addition to a new engine. This will enable your IT department to easily view the Velocity+ Management Studio, Resources, and Trace at the same time. We have found that it is much easier to use than switching back and forth between tabs in a single application. We have added ways to access the Resources and Trace applications from within the Management Studio to make it much easier to have what you need open. We have also added some continuity between our products, so if you have used our Echo Content Synchronization, Velocity+ now looks more familiar to you.
Migration Resource Studio
Specifically, we wanted to highlight some major changes within the Resource Studio. We have greatly improved our script editing feature. This is where you can create “script templates,” so you can avoid writing more code repeatedly based on your unique circumstances. Our C# scripting includes syntax highlighting, immediate error feedback, Intellisense and auto-complete. This is useful for those who are new to C# scripting, or new to SeeUnity products and language.
We also want to highlight our metadata mapping. We have improved Velocity’s metadata mapping to have a cleaner UI with better screen management. It allows for easy drag-and-dropping to map source and target metadata sets. Velocity+ also allows for multiple sets on one map, so you can get more attributes done at one time.
Real-time Monitoring
Last, but not least, we wanted to highlight another feature of Velocity+. Users will now be able to monitor, in real time, the performance of their migration. This is key to successful migrations because it will allow you to go in and tune or fix any issues that may arise. With large migrations, this is especially helpful to give a window into where things may be bottlenecking, and give you the opportunity to optimize the migration for better, much quicker results. This additional visibility is something we are proud to have implemented in Velocity+.
Velocity+ will be available for all new customers, beginning immediately. For more information or a demo, inquire above or email sales@seeunity.com.
